5 months, 14 countries..

The jist:  We are planning to embark on a 5 month, 5 continent trip in October 2009. The idea of a round the world trip was sparked by Paulo Coelho’s novel The Alchemist.  One year after finishing the novel, we are ready to embark on our own Personal Legend.  Who says there’s no better time than the present?

How did we manage to take off 5 months to travel? The timing of this trip came at an ideal time: Ryan’s lease was quickly coming to an end and  in the middle of changing jobs and Katie decided to take a year off before starting graduate school.
